Finals, oh finals, why have you done this to me.
Once again, it has reached that time of year where every student is gearing up their backpacks with all their textbooks and heading over to the library for the day. Me on the other hand, My mind has honestly been everywhere else but trying to actually study to pass my finals. So foolish of me.. I KNOW. But I cannot even say the next upcoming days will be stressful because i have finally reached the point of school where I have mentally checked out. Not to mention at the worst possible timing . I have the one test I am most worried about tomorrow at 8 AM over my other four tests i need to take Monday-Wednesday. But somehow I cannot work up the motivation to take the time and retain the reading I in fact KNOW i will need. I've spent the major of yesterday cleaning my entire apartment (which i put off from last week), told myself that it would be my only day to indulge into some Grey's Anatomy and go grocery shopping with my roommate. Now I am here a whole day later repeating the same things I TOLD MYSELF NOT TO DO. I had a complete agenda for my day; from cooking myself breakfast to taking in the quiet my room has to brought me without my other roommates being home. But look at me now writing this post with Grey's in the background yet again with the thought of my final in the mind. But when is the the break truly over? When will I take in the severity of my final seriously? Later tonight at 10 when I am cramming? Tomorrow at 6 AM when I'm rationalizing waking up early just to study what I could have the day before. Finals week is NO JOKE. But to surpass the week of inevitable I have some tips.
I know everyone in college will agree and most parents will look at this but hey gotta keep it real.
1. TAKE A WEEKEND TO DO ALL THE CRAZY THINGS YOU WILL WANT TO DO OUT OF THE WAY SO YOU'RE NOT TEMPTED.
- That means all your house partying, alcohol and drug consumption, and club hopping.
2. CHECK OUT A LOCAL YOGA CLASS
- I personally have a class offered through my recreation center on campus. I advice you check out what your college has to offer
3. DOWNLOAD A MEDIATION ALBUM
- I would strongly recommend Deepak Chopra soul of healing meditations & soul of healing affirmations. They're auto books downloaded with apple music or iTunes.
4.REMIND YOURSELF WHY YOU'RE IN SCHOOL, BETTER YET WHY YOU'RE GETTING A FORM OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
- Taking time to look back at old images from high school to now and mentally replaying how far along you've come, writing it out, & sometimes the best remedy of them all. Simply speaking to your closest friends could give you the excitement again .
5. KARAOKE .. OR
6.SING YOUR HEART OUT TO SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SONGS AT HOME.
-Make it into a playlist if you have to for times like that.
7. CLEAN
- Dishes, your room, bathroom, hey why not even your hair
8. TAKE SOME TIME TO PAMPER YOURSELF
- Cut your nails and polish them, do something new to your hair, shave and moisture your body to feel right.
9. Hang out with Loved ONES !
10.Binge watch your favorite shows
11. List of things you need to study for
- Highlight the important
12. JUST SIMPLE TAKE A BREAK TO DO NOTHING.
I am not sure if any of these would help you much, but if it has I am glad to relieve your stress. By simply taking the time to write this out gave me the realization I need to stop wasting time. So something on this list could definitely give you an idea with something to do while you take a break.
As always,
BE TRUE, STAY YOU & I'M GOING TO
